I wouldn’t say that this has been the most popular post, nor did it receive any comments, but for me, it was the point at which I realised I was passionate about metadata; the point at which all other specialisation ensued. That for me, is the best blog post of 2010. It seems even more poignant now, in light of Library closures, service cuts, and the loss of the word ‘librarian’ from many job titles and descriptions, including my own. I have my own unique outlook on books, and information retrieval, some of which is woven throughout these blog posts. Mostly, I am inextricably linked to language and the power of reading to expand the mind and overall, educate. And I want everyone to share this.
I am in ‘this’ for the librarianship. Enough said.
