The ‘I should’ve gone to the Library’ effect

I think after their initial Information Literacy session with their Subject Librarian, students can have a nasty habit of forgetting that they and the Library, are there to help them – its not just the books that are resources, in fact, in my academic library, you would be able to find our Subject Librarians listed in the resource management system Metalib as resources.

Information Literacy can tend to err on the antiquated side, and its one of my interests to attempt to build sessions that will engage students, take up cognitive space in their brains that will remain as poignant as which bars have discount student nights (rather than be deleted along with the likes of what the Christmas present was from Grandma) for at least 3 years!
